At D-Tech Supplies, recycling has always been about more than simply taking unwanted tech off someone’s hands. Wherever possible, we aim to reuse, repair, refurbish, donate, or responsibly recycle items so they can have a second life.
We are proud to be working in partnership with South West Clearances, a local Yatton-based clearance company, to support more sustainable recycling and responsible disposal within our community.
South West Clearances provides property clearance services across North Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, with a focus on care, professionalism and eco-friendly disposal. Their own approach includes recycling, repurposing and donating items wherever possible, which makes them a natural partner for D-Tech Supplies. Together, we are working to make it easier for unwanted electrical items, small electronics and reusable technology to be handled responsibly instead of simply going to waste.
“At D-Tech Supplies, we’re always excited to cooperate and build partnerships with local companies that share our values around sustainability, reuse, refurbishment and responsible recycling. Working together with businesses that care about reducing waste helps us support our community, protect the planet, and give technology a longer, more useful life."
When suitable items come through our recycling process, we assess whether they can be:
Reused— working items may be cleaned, checked and prepared for a new home.
Refurbished — repairable devices may be restored where practical, giving them a longer and more useful life
Donated — usable technology may be donated to good causes, local communities, charities, and people in need, helping make tech more accessible instead of letting it go to waste. We never charge for donated items.
Used for parts — we keep selected good-quality components and reuse them in future repairs where suitable. This helps us reduce waste and keep our repair prices low — many of our prices have remained unchanged since we opened almost two years ago, which is especially important while the cost of electronics and replacement parts continues to rise.
Responsibly recycled — items that cannot be reused, repaired, donated, or stripped for useful parts are passed through responsible recycling routes. We work with South West Clearances to help ensure items are recycled properly and handled in line with Environment Agency guidelines.
This approach helps reduce unnecessary waste, supports people and organisations who need access to technology, and keeps useful components in circulation for as long as possible.
Helping the Planet — and Helping People
Electrical waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams, and many items still contain parts, materials or components that can be reused.
By working together with South West Clearances, we can support a more circular approach: less waste, more reuse, and more opportunities for unwanted technology to benefit others.
It also helps us keep repair costs fair.
Reusing suitable components means we can reduce unnecessary waste and keep many repair prices affordable — with many of our prices remaining unchanged for almost two years.
