When you hand over a device for recycling, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the item or have full permission from the owner to dispose of it.
Once a device has been accepted for recycling, ownership is transferred to D-Tech Supplies. This allows us to process the device appropriately, including recycling, refurbishing, or reusing components where possible.
Recycling is considered final and cannot be reversed once the device has been processed.
We offer free data removal for all devices accepted for recycling. All accessible data will be permanently erased within 24 hours of the device being received.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that any important data is backed up before handing in the device, as once the process has started, data cannot be recovered.
In some cases, data removal may not be possible due to security restrictions, such as account locks (e.g. Apple ID, Google, or encryption). In these situations, we will carry out physical destruction of the storage component (such as the hard drive or SSD) to ensure all data is securely destroyed.
By leaving a device with us for recycling, you acknowledge and accept that all data stored on the device will be removed or destroyed as part of the recycling process.
Devices that remain locked with passwords or accounts, including Apple ID, Google accounts, or BitLocker encryption, will be used for the components only. They can not be donated. All data will be physically destroyed.
We accept devices in a wide range of conditions including:
– Non working items
– Damaged items
– Fully working
However, we reserve the right to refuse items that are unsafe, heavily contaminated, or present a health risk.
Devices left for recycling are not stored for return.
Once accepted, they may be dismantled, recycled, or otherwise processed without notice.
For this reason, please ensure that you do not leave any items or data you wish to retain.
Our recycling service is provided as a method of responsible disposal. In most cases, this service is free of charge and no payment or compensation is offered for items handed in for recycling.
Certain items may incur a disposal fee, particularly where specialist handling or environmental processing is required (for example, heavily damaged devices, batteries, or hazardous components). Any such charges will always be discussed and agreed with you before acceptance.
We aim to recycle electronic waste responsibly and reduce environmental impact by reusing components wherever possible and ensuring appropriate disposal methods are followed.
D-Tech Supplies is not liable for any data left on devices, any loss resulting from items being recycled, or any items handed in unintentionally.
We aim to make recycling simple, safe, and environmentally responsible, helping reduce electronic waste while giving devices a second life where possible.
